Intro to Splitboarding

Experience the captivating snowy landscapes of Hokkaido, Japan, through splitboarding. Japan is renowned for its pristine powder conditions, offering an unmatched adventure for snowboarding enthusiasts. Delve into splitboarding, a unique approach that lets you ascend mountains and glide on untouched trails with the flexibility of a specially designed board. As you conquer untracked peaks, prepare for an exhilarating downhill ride in the famous Japow.

This immersive 6-day program is designed to equip you with essential split boarding skills while enjoying the stunning landscapes of Niseko. Participants will have the opportunity to learn from experienced instructors, ensuring a safe and rewarding experience. 

Techniques & Transitions:

Learn the fundamental techniques of split boarding, including how to transition smoothly between uphill and downhill riding.

Snow Safety:

Understand the principles of snow safety, including avalanche awareness and route assessment to ensure a safe backcountry experience.

Camp Info

6 days backcountry guiding

Each day we will make a plan to head into the best backcountry, finding the best snow on offer and learning how to get the most out of splitboarding. 

Free accommodation pick up

For these trips we can pick you up and travel to where is best, searching out the best conditions on offer.

1-4 people

We limit the group size to a max of 4 people.  This helps us move a good pace and keep everyone safe whilst in the backcountry.  If you have a bigger group we can have two guides.

Avi equipment

You will need to either rent or provide your own avi equipment.  We have avi packs that have all the equipment you will need for heading into the backcountry.  These can be rented direct from us.

Splitboarding equipment

Participants should bring their own split boarding gear or can rent equipment locally. A gear list of requirements will be provided upon registration.

Accommodation

Participants are responsible for securing their accommodation. Daily transport will be provided for the selected location.
